Workspaces & Projects
Organize your development environment
Organize your development environment with workspaces and projects.
Workspaces
A workspace is a container for related projects - think of it as a client, product, or major initiative. Each workspace is color-coded and appears as a tab at the top of the window, so you can instantly identify which context you're working in.
For example, a "Client X" workspace might contain all the services for that client:
- Marketing website
- Admin dashboard
- Backend API
- Mobile app backend
- Database container
You can organize workspaces however makes sense for your workflow - by client, by project, by team, or any other grouping. Drag workspace tabs to reorder them, and see running process counts at a glance.
Focus Workspace
The Focus workspace is a special workspace that lets you collect layouts from across all your workspaces into one place. Toggle it with ⌥1. This is useful when you want quick access to specific layouts without switching between workspaces.
Task Board
Each workspace has its own kanban board for tracking tasks. Open it with ⌘B and select the To-Do tab. Cards are linked to projects in the workspace, so your tasks stay organized alongside the services they relate to.
Project Settings
Each project can be configured with:
- Command - The shell command to run (e.g., pnpm run dev)
- Working Directory - Where the command executes (supports ~ for home)
- Color & Icon - Visual identification in the UI
- Auto Restart - Automatically restart if the process crashes
- Environment Variables - Set per-project environment variables
- Port - For conflict detection and browser panel auto-retry
Quick Commands
Add shortcuts for common tasks like building, testing, or deploying. Quick commands run in the background and don't replace the main process. Access them via the menu in the panel header, which combines running and adding commands in one place.
Project Links
Add links to quickly open URLs related to your project - localhost dev server, staging environment, documentation, etc. Links appear in the panel header and can be opened in the embedded browser or your default browser.
Log Patterns
Set up log patterns to automatically highlight or filter important messages in your project logs. Right-click any text in the log view and select "Add Pattern from Selection" to quickly create a pattern from existing output.
